View LogFile for Gnuplot and Equation Plugins?

Is there some way to view the log file in the image generating plugins such as gnuplot and LaTeX?

When working with gnuplot, I frequently end up generating invalid scripts. When this happens, the only feedback I get is "there was an error". Without a meaningful error message finding the error is difficult to say the least. The same applies for LaTeX equations.

If the application generates a log file (e.g. latex) the dialog will
have a button "show log". Not available for all applications.
