To add:
this would make the ZIM a ultimate tool to write Python software documentation:

* export the whole notebook in the same hierachy to RST
* run Sphinx on it
* upload to web!

In the development branch there is an RST export module. It is
mentioning "octopress" as the target - assume this will be compatible
with other tools using RST as well.

It will be included in the next release.

Turns out I was mistaken about the "octopress" part, the current code
in fact uses spinx extensions, so should meet your requirements
perfectly.

Man, I just tested this on a full notebook. Worked like a rocket.

You really should advertise this among all Python documentation wirters!

Only thing I do not like at time is that ZIM has its own markup...

Or is it a markup commonly used?

No, although it uses common wiki constructs, it is tuned to the
specific feature set in zim. But we are working on more format
compatibility.
