Zim

Paste images in PNG format, no BMP

Asked by ihavenomouth

Hello

I'm a user of KeepNote, but i'm looking for something different. ZIM seems a very useful tool, but there are some details here and there. I'm using ZIM 0.56 in Windows XP Home.

When I copy and paste an image (for example from a web page or a capture screen tool) in Keepnote is saved as a PNG file, but in ZIM is saved as a BMP. So an image that could only need 25KB, now need 256KB (It's 10 times bigger!). Is there a way to change this behaviour? If it were possible i would be great!

Thanks a lot

Assuming you copy by drag & drop. Drag and drop is a negotiation
between two applications. Zim can not control the format the sender
gives us, so not sure we can really fix this if the other application
tells us it has BMP data.

Alternative is to "save as" images in the zim folder.
