Zim

Zim and UbuntuOne

Asked by nomnex

Did not have much time to compile the zim doc yet. However, I am already found of this utility, and even more to replace this Mono (Windoze like) Tomboy application with limited functionality (but I digress)

Can you tell me the best way to sync 2 computers using UbuntuOne? Simply moving the zim dir. to the UbuntuOne folder? Is there any known conflicts zim/UbuntuOne? Thanks

Is there a project of zim UbuntuOne plug-in (as does Tomboy) to sync the notes/doc with the server?

There is a proposal to support couchdb (which is the underlying
technology of ubuntuone) but this is just brainstorm phase for now.

For now the way to go is just syncing by syncing the files in the shared folder.

If you feel synchronizing is important for you, you might wat to

That's perfectly fine

I am currently experiencing evolution contacts sync with couch/db. because I haven't find an easy way to sync my contacts between a desk and a notebook. I don't need to access the data remotely, neither a live sync, so a cloud solution is of little I guess.

I am thinking to rsync the zim directory containing my notebooks. As long as links do not directed to documents outside the directory, it should do fine.
