Debian/Ubuntu Packaging of 0.4x series

Asked by Michael Nagel

are there plan of packaging the new python/0.4x series for debian/ubuntu?
0.28 is packaged for ubuntu and installable from the official repos, but i understand that the python version is the future, so it should be packaged in addition to the existing package -- or the the old package should be updated. any plans on this?

There is an unofficial ubuntu packages available from the zim website.
Also the package is in debian testing already. Suppose ubuntu will
follow at some point by mirroring the debian package.
