Are there any plans for Zeitgeist to feed and use an enterprise search server eg Solr or Xapian? Is that the goal for Teamgeist?

We already provide an FTS search extension for Zeitgeist.
Teamgeist is to link several "Zeitgeist" together to provide a wider search and awareness

Please point me in the right direction for some documentaion about "how to setup a xapian server" and "how to configure Zietgeist-extra-fts for remote Xapian search"

Erm, sorry.

You can find the Zeitgeist FTS (full text search) extension, which is powered by Xapian, at https://launchpad.net/zeitgeist-extensions . If you're using Ubuntu it's in the zeitgeist-extension-fts package.
