Improvements into Port definition

Asked by Jordi Coll

After working with the platform for several weeks, we've noticed that the working with the ports is rather chaotic. It would be great to have another system to build the boxes and define previously the inputs and outputs for the better display on the instantiated box. Now the biggest problem that we have is when we create a box, we put the ports in a functional way, then when we create the instance box, the ports are displayed in the way they were created and that's not very useful.

In some systems, they define the box, then the inputs and the outputs manually and you can even order the position from this first step. Then the box will be created with this parameters and the instance box will keep the ports in the same order.

We can talk about this.

Let's see, if I understand there's important to have a system for creating boxes, setting previously the order of ports manually, for example.. in a dialog?
How do you evaluate the functionality of the "move ports" tool? It's usable or not?

How do you think about ordering ports using this idea of showing a dialog initially (when you create the instance) with a list of the ports of the instanced box, and where you can order them manually before creating the box?

Can you help with this problem?
