Avoiding port connection

Asked by Jordi Coll

As for a better standardization, it could be possible to avoid connecting ports and only leave a little text into the connection port. In the PLC software it works in this way. With this idea, you wouldn't have to draw a lot of lines to connect every port.

We should open a blueprint to design this feature

Yes I'm agree to open a blueprint, but I think that with this idea, we lose information about the design, isn't it? Because you cannot see where the ports are connected to.

Well, using my own experience working with PLC software, we use to create TAGS. Every tag can be defined as "Read", "Write" or "Read/Write". (Sometimes de read type is implicit into write type). Then, when we create a "Box" we connect on the inputs a "label" that points to the defined Tag.

Internally, you know which of them are Inputs, Outputs or temp variables because they are allocated in memory. I can send you a picture showing the desired (or possible) drawing if you want.

Can you help with this problem?
