number of cores to have the max performance with Yade

Asked by ozge

Hello to everyone,

I could not remember now but I read somewhere that the machine/computer with more than 20 cores has no effect on the duration of testing in Yade.

I'm going to buy a workstation and, I'm just wondering that what should be the maximum core numbers to get the most efficient/fruitful performance with yade?

Thanks a lot,

Ozge

You may also find other examples up to 100 cores in

Depending on the type of simulations (in terms of particle shape, for instance), using more than 20 cores could be observed to be beneficial therein.

As always, I guess it is impossible to tell whether that will be your case in the total absence of information about your own simulations ;-)
