Why particles move along X axis?

I made a Y-Z plane full of particles. I want the particles in this plane to move under gravity, but I found that these particles always move along the X axis. Why?

Hi,

it is hard to tell without the example code. Please read this [1] and provide MWE (Minimum Working Example).

Based on the very limited information that you provided, I can speculate that you set the gravity to act along the X-axis.
