Pfacet

Asked by fan yang

Dear all:
recently I have some problems with Pfacet.
I just want to use Pfacet to be boundaries(like wall).I have created some Pfacets by grids.
I find that I only can control the grids to move the pfacet.I just wonder if I could combine two triangles into a quadrilateral so that I can use the the center of the whole plane to move the plane.
Thanks for your help and best regards,
Fan Yang

Hello,

> I find that I only can control the grids to move the pfacet

This is very nice feature actually.
If you want some "higher level" manipulation, write same wrapper function(s), e.g. a function to move a pfacet, a class containing two pfacets forming a quadrilateral, a function to move this quadrilateral..
Actually you can build a python module and then share it by merging it to yade source code :-)

> I just wonder if I could combine two triangles into a quadrilateral

what does "combine" exactly mean?
Yes, two "neighboring" pfacets form quadrilateral..

> so that I can use the the center of the whole plane to move the plane

what "use", "whole plane", "move" and "the plane" exactly mean?
Yes, you can "use" the center to assign nodes the velocity/position you need..

cheers
Jan
