how to fill a pack of spheres with a different material

Asked by Grace Mejico on 2020-01-07

Hi
My name is Grace and im working on a simulation of dry stone retaining walls. Im looking for a way to make a random dense pack of clumps and fill the spaces between the clumps with another material like with a cement material. What i mean is that what i would like to add is a filler material. Is there any idea or function i can use, ill be very glad to know.

In the same way, i would like to know how to use it in case of a random dense pack of polyhedra particles.

Hi,

you can use the same idea as randomDensePack uses:
1) create a loose sphere pack using makeCloud function
2) replace [1] some spheres by clumps, polyhedra, whtever... [1]
3) compress it

cheers
Jan
