Self-Gravity

Asked by Jinny Kim

Hi, I am new YADE user!
I actually have a simple question on forces in YADE simulation.
I wonder if YADE can consider the self-gravity during the simulation.
For example, if there are two particles, they have the interaction force which attracts each other without collision.
So, can YADE consider this force. If yes/no, is there any way to consider this force??

Thank you for your help in advance!!!

Hello,

I would say no: I'm not aware YADE would currently include code to describe a reciprocal gravitational (distant) interaction.

Since it's open-source, it's obviously possible to code new stuff in C++. You could also impose these forces from Python (maybe easier to do, most probably slower to run).

Thank you for your comment, Jérôme!

I just wanted to make sure if I missed some functions in YADE. Thanks!
