overlap of polyhedral particles

Asked by feda

Hello,
I'm trying to simulate the gravity deposition of polyhedral particles, but, after reaching low unbalanced forces, I can visually notice some overlaps between particles (non-negligeable) even when increasing the stiffness. I am actually wondering if anybody has faced the same issue with similar simulations or if there is another way to minimize inter-particles overlap when dealing with polyhedra.
Thank you,
Feda

Hello,

please provide a MWE [1].

what values have you tired?
try to increase more :-)

by default, the repulsive force between polyhedrons is proportional to the overlapping volume, which might be "very small" but "visually noticeable". You can set the volumePower [2] to 1/3. or even less to get higher forces for smaller overlapping volume.

cheers
