Make a clumps

Asked by Sam

Hey Guys,

I'm trying to model some realistic sand particles based on the CT scan images. I was succeeded to make a surface plot / or a shell from my particle but I do not know how can I make clumps based on my shell forYADE. How can I do that because there is a software ASG software for PFC3D and EDEM, what about YADE?

I do appreciate it if you guide me.

Hi,

For your information, you may give a look to https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10035-017-0785-7, done with YADE.

In terms of practical advices, maybe you could precise what "ASG" stands for ? (this would be useful for me, at least)

Hi,
You can use AGS for Yade as well since AGS is a standalone application. What it does is just fitting a shape with spheres, which is independent of the choice of a DEM software.
