Prallel Computation, CentOS & Ubuntu file versions

Asked by behzad

Hi there,

I'm using Yade trunk on my computer on Ubuntu. Recently, I installed Yade trunk on our cluster computer which runs on CentOS. I ran a simulation model and I saved it as *.yade file with the cluster computer.
The problem is I cannot open this file on my PC. I got the following error:

bemaj3@GCI-REGAL-ETU5:~$ yade2014-04-22 loader.py
Welcome to Yade 2015-04-02.git-799b1b5
TCP python prompt on localhost:9000, auth cookie `cksuas'

Running script loader.py
Traceback (most recent call last):

    execfile(script,globals())
  File "loader.py", line 1, in <module>
    O.load('settled.yade')
RuntimeError: unsupported version

Why this happens and how can I solve this problem?
Thank you.

It just means, that the versions on your cluster and home PC are different. Try to install the same version on your PC, it should help.

I am just thinking, that we should probably deprecate this functionality, because it usually brings only problems.

Can you help with this problem?
