shortcuts of yade-stable

Hi,
   I have updated yade to yade stable now, but there are some problems with this version under Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

  hiroki@ubuntu:~$ yade-stable
 Welcome to Yade 0.80.1+2+10~precise1, from 2012-05-30
 TCP python prompt on localhost:9001, auth cookie `suckde'
 XMLRPC info provider on http://localhost:21001
 [[ ^L clears screen, ^U kills line. F12 controller, F11 3d view, F10 both, F9 generator, F8 plot. ]]

 when I press 'F12' it will show a Character like '~' as well as 'F8', 'F9'.

   Is there some other ways to solve this problem?
   I am not familiar with Linux system.

A solution is to not try to use shortcut, but typing by hand the corresponding command. For F12, I do not have it in mind, something like yade.Qt.control() ????
