error message

Asked by Jan-Olof Jansson

Hi!
I'm using Ubuntu Lucid 10.4 32bit.

When I run xwinlogger, I get this message from Awk in Swedish.

It means that: "the last character of the line isn't a backslash" \ :

awk: BEGIN{FS="=";ORS=" ";OFS=""} { \
awk: ^ sista tecknet på raden är inte ett omvänt snedstreck
ERROR: Process ID list syntax error.

I also see the ps command's help list of flags. Should that appear?

ERROR: Process ID list syntax error.
********* simple selection ********* ********* selection by list *********
-A all processes -C by command name
-N negate selection -G by real group ID (supports names)
.............
............. etc

Hi,

thanks for asking. I haven't used XWinLogger for some time and haven't noticed the error.

I get the same message, so I will probably be able to fix it in a couple of days.

By the way -- are you using GitHub? I'm thinking of moving all of my code there.

Yes. GitHub is ok for me.

By the way, does xwinlogger write the titlebar text in the logfile?

I fixed the error and committed the result to both Launchpad and GitHub.

From now on I will use GitHub repository for development of this script:
https://github.com/emilis/xwinlogger

Also: yes, xwinlogger writes titlebar text in the log file (it is in the last column of every entry).

Thanks again for reporting the error! I hope you find XWinLogger useful.

If you have any more questions or error reports, please use GitHub.

Can you help with this problem?
