Ability to set the logo and throbber?

Asked by asifhl

Apparently xsplash-background-settings does not support the ability to change/set the xsplash logo and throbber. Are there any plans to add this feature?

Actually this project started with a script to synchronize xsplash background with the desktop wallpaper and because of many positive feedback and requests for easy installation and configuration i build a configuration dialog around it (so the custom background option was really not much more than a side-effect). I may of course add logo / throbber and full theme support including management and recombination of installed themes. However, as firstly there will be some fundamental changes to the whole boot process in the next ubuntu release in april (10 sec boot, plymouth replacing usplash), secondly xsplash might turn out to support customization after all and thirdly a full xsplash configuration would better be integrated in a complete bootprocess configuration tool (grub2, plymouth, gdm, xsplash) like startup manager, dont expect anything on that issue before ubuntu lucid release.

Can you help with this problem?
