Problems with window updates when using a compositor in feisty

I am using Ubuntu Feisty and, despite being told in #ubuntu+1 that Compiz and Beryl now work, I am still experiencing problems with some windows not being updated correctly (most commonly Gaim, XChat, some dialogs and most dropdown menus). I quite regularly have to close/reopen or minimise and then restore windows to see anything more than basic outlines of some widgets.

I don't know where this bug should be reported as it happens with both Beryl and Compiz.

All packages are up to date, and my graphics card is a Mobility Radeon 9600

The problem seems to have got worse since the set of updates to xorg today.

The issue was solved by adding

Option "XAANoOffscreenPixmaps"

In the "Device" section for my graphics card.

It was probably not included because I upgraded from edgy where it was apparently not needed to run composite?

Anyway problem solved :-)
