I bought a lovely new keyboard, but the hotkeys dont work

I have a lovely new keyboard, a packard bell, but the hot buttons dont work, which is a PITA as they are so lovely :D

i dont know where i am meant to go to get them configured,

its okay, xfce-keyboard settings does it nicely
