Asked by tickwatch

Scrolling text Font / Text sizes are inconsistent across most of our players when using scrolling text feature. Using the same version of .NET and IE7 on all player machines. Players on same hardware and OS.

Xibo will scale text based on the available space of the region. The region size is in turn determined by the resolution of the screen and the aspect ratio of the layout.

Do you have the same layout scheduled on two display clients with exactly the same resolution and screen size?

I think this partially has to do with the "Text Size" setting in Internet Explorer (View -> Text Size). I moved it from "Medium" to "Larger" and then immediately back to medium again. It seemed like there was a bug with the switching, be sure to change it around a couple of times to make sure "Medium" is actually what you are seeing. I confirmed all monitors were on the same text size and everything seems ok now.

The Xibo player seems to use whatever "text size" you have set in IE, so go set/confirm your text size in IE, close it and then launch the player.

The other part (for one dual headed player we have) was that its running ATI Catalyst control panel (video card software) to clone the screens. One of the options was something to do with "scaling" -- disabled and no more problems from those two monitors. If the text size fix above doesn't work on it's own, check around in any video card specific control panel for text/font related settings.
