design view and actual not matching

Asked by bruce french

I'm making designs for a 16:10 screen and the layout on the design is not matching the layout presented on the screen. as seen here

http://www.thewellingtonacademy.org.uk/user/74/56566.jpg

all the content is correct and the regions seems to be correctly placed but the sizes and scales are well off. Is this something i'm doing wrong or something with xibo. The screen is question is a 32"WS 16:10 and the background settings on xibo are set to match. I've tried it with 16:9 and other settings also but that just makes it worse. Any assistance world be greatly appreciated as at the moment to get it right i have to alter it in xibo, c+a+d the display screen. delete the xibo library from my documents there and the restart the program.

Hi Bruce

Text doesn't preview the same as it renders. It's a limitation of the way we handle text. About the best advice I can give is that you install a screen locally to yourself and then tweek the layout as needed until it's right before sending it to the public display.

There should be absolutely no need to touch the main screen in the way you describe. I don't know what settings Simon has on the client but if you wait for the collection interval to elapse it'll refresh with any modifications you've made automatically.

Thanks for the speedy reply. sounds like it would best to set up a local preview screen before sending to the main.
