Remove interval between scheduled pages

Asked by Wildebeaste

I'm currently using Xibo to schedule a series of web pages (Joomla is being used to manage the content).

Is there a way of removing the page which appears in-between the scheduled pages?

At the moment there is a 4-5 second delay between pages - a big blindingly white page. I know that this page can contain information, but I don't want it there at all. I would like a smooth transition between these web pages without a pause for anything else.

I apologise if this is obvious, but I just can't see how to remove it anywhere.

Thanks for any assistance.

Hi

Unfortunately not. What you're seeing is the delay while the website is downloaded.

If you change the layout background colour to black, then at least it won't be blindingly white :D

The client is going directly from one website to the next, but because it's taking three or four seconds for the page to download and render - nothing is shown while that happens.

The newer client which will be released with the 1.2 or 1.4 series of Xibo supports transitions and should resolve this issue fully.

Cheers

Alex

Alex,

I see that the 1.2 release candidate has been posted. Do you have any idea when the client for that will be released? Transitions would be great to have. Also, I did not see transitions as a listed feature in the release notes of 1.2 server. Is it still a planned feature?

The client will be essentially unchanged. There's no planned date for transitions yet.
