General Discussion

Asked by Andrew

This is not the place for this post - which is why I'm posting! Is there (or can there be) a place for general discussion about Xibo? It would be nice to discuss usage and ideas that aren't bug/troubleshooting related and find out how people are using Xibo once it's up and running.

Heya

There isn't a mailing list or forum at the moment. My only concern about setting up one or both would be that the Launchpad Questions system works really well for Dan and I to keep track of what has and hasn't been dealt with - and I hope it allows us to make the most of the time we have available to help people out with Xibo installations.

The problem is finding the line between general discussion - which doesn't need to be tracked by us - and RFCs, help requests and bugs which very definitely do need to be here.

What are other peoples thoughts?

Alex

I am in agreement with Alex - the Launchpad answers system is essential for
us to easily maintain support, bugs and feature requests.

That being said it would be nice for us to have a general discussion area
and build up a comminuty with suggestions and tips.

Thoughts from others are welcome...

We are going to trial a forum to see what sort of activity we get there - once we have a better style on it we will announce it. Let us know your thoughts.

We obviously need to do some styling on it! :-)

I forgot to mention that you can log in to our http://www.xibo.org.uk site with your Launchpad OpenID (https://launchpad.net/~username)

You should also be able to post on the forum with this ID - if you cant let us know!
