For now, it's not possible to use Xibo .NET Client on Linux because it's not compatible with Wine or Mono...

I've test this configuration :

1) Wine 1.1x + Mono 2.3
With Wine configured with Win2000 version and install Mono 2.3 for Windows , .NET Client don't install

2) Wine 1.1x + .NET Framework 2.0 + winetricks script
No problem to install but don't start the Xibo settings and Client start but stop with error message (internal error)...

3) With VMware Workstation 6.x and Windows XP guest
No problem, all work but it's not the solution in production...

For 1.1 series of Xibo, a Python Client (cross plate-forme) is in development but it's a big work for Alex because it's the only developer on Python...

I will continue to test .NET client on Linux and if i find a solution, I'll write a page on the Xibo Wiki

I will create a page on Wiki to explain another way to use Xibo Server and Client on Linux.

Hi

It won't work under Wine at present. It uses Winforms2, Internet Explorer, Adobe Flash and Windows Media Player controls which aren't supported under Mono.

Cheers
