Backwards Compatible

Asked by Ryan

Hello,

1.7 RC 1 ...

Is the CLIENT TO SERVER backwards compatible or is it only
SERVER to Client ?

EG ....

Client can run an older version than server ( Server 1.7 )....

Or is it Client ( 1.7 ) can talk to Old ( 1.6.4 ) Server ?

Thanks

Also on android as well ....

There's limited capacity to run 1.6 clients against a 1.7 server providing
they were registered at the time of upgrade. It's designed to give you a
little time between upgrading the CMS and doing all the clients. Not
everything will work so you should upgrade the clients to 1.7 as soon as
possible after the CMS. The same applies to Android, but no 1.7 client is
available yet as there's no stable 1.7 CMS yet. Please keep in mind it's a
release candidate and not a final stable release. You should be using it to
test with, not for production environments

We are using it for testing, currently. Just wanted to double check for after RC is final - how long the systems will run before we must upgrade. If they will run for a day or 2, that will give us enough time.

Thanks !

1.6 systems should run indefinitely - but they will not get the latest content and wont work with all the 1.7 features. A day or two should be fine.
