Timeout during upload

Hi, I tried to read on the answered question but I have not found what I need. I have one problem during upload related to timeout. Files are not so bigger (200Mb) but I take too much time to upload them on the platform. This is not a problem because I can wait but unfortunately often login box appears and the upload is stopped. How can I increase the timer. I changed the php parameter on the server as someone suggested but it is not sufficient. Now the value is 14400.

Is there anyone that can help me? Next week I have to instruct some people on how to use the platform and I know that they must upload some big files so I hope to don't meet the same problem.

Which version are you using please? It sounds like you might be using an earlier version of the software without the new file upload tool.

1.4.2 is pretty old now. 1.6.4 is the latest stable and 1.7.0 is about to
go stable too.

You should consider upgrading to 1.6.4 for the new upload tool which should
fix the issue you're seeing. You'll need to upgrade your client machines
too.

The problem is that I have to pgrade too much clients... is there a workaround?

If increasing the php session timeout isn't sorting the issue out then no
you would need to upgrade to get the newer upload tool
