Changing video file directly - without CMS

We have Xibo setup on our server and the admin updates a daily bulletin every morning. The bulletin video is used in multiple layouts and in different positions on different layouts. Currently we delete the old video, upload the new one and reposition it in the playlist/region.

Is there any way of simply directly changing the file so the new files plays in all current positions? What would be the easiest way of doing this?

You can edit the file in the library and tick the box to replace the video
in all layouts - however note on 1.6 series that will leave the old video
file on the CMS too so over time the library will grow in size.

In 1.7 series there's a further option to delete the old version at the
point of uploading the new one. I would continue doing what you are doing
now until you upgrade to 1.7 when it's released as stable early next year.
