RSS feed from internal Wordpress Blog

Asked by Paul Casey

I've got 4 screens set up in school displaying pupil notices and ads as video files along with out twitter RSS feed which works great.

I'm now trying to display homework reminders from our internal (non public facing) wordpress server, but I can't get anything to display in the region. I've tested it using external Wordpress blogs and the BBC news feed and there's no issue.
From the client computers I can view the internal blogs as well as the RSS feed in Internet Explorer, but I'm getting nothing from within Xibo.

Can anyone suggest somewhere to start troubleshooting this?
Thanks!

RSS feeds are pre processed by the CMS so the CMS will need to be able to
access the feed

It seems like you've ruled out issues with external sources and confirmed that the internal WordPress blogs are accessible from client computers in Internet Explorer. Since the RSS feed works fine in Xibo for Twitter, the problem might be specific to your internal WordPress server.

Here are a few steps to consider for troubleshooting:

Check the RSS Feed URL: Make sure that the RSS feed URL from your internal WordPress server is correctly configured in Xibo. Double-check for any typos or special characters.

Server Permissions: Ensure that the internal WordPress server allows the Xibo client to access the RSS feed. Check server permissions and any firewall rules that might be blocking Xibo.

Authentication: If your internal WordPress server requires authentication, make sure you've configured the appropriate credentials in Xibo.

RSS Format: Ensure that the RSS feed from your internal WordPress server is in a compatible format (e.g., RSS 2.0) and follows the standard structure.

Xibo Log Files: Check Xibo's log files for any error messages or issues related to fetching the RSS feed. This can provide insights into what might be going wrong.

Update Xibo: Ensure that you're using the latest version of Xibo, as newer versions may have bug fixes and improvements related to RSS feed handling.

Content Region Setup: Verify that you've correctly configured the content region in Xibo to display the RSS feed. Check the layout and region settings.

Proxy or Network Issues: Consider if there might be any proxy or network-related issues that prevent Xibo from accessing internal resources. Ensure that Xibo's network settings are correctly configured.

Testing Environment: If possible, set up a testing environment that mimics the production setup to isolate and troubleshoot the issue without impacting your live displays.

By systematically addressing these points, you should be able to identify the source of the problem and work towards a solution for displaying homework reminders from your internal WordPress server within Xibo. I have solved the same issue to my client's website page https://repairs-in-servicecenter-uae.com/service-center-2-2-2-19/

It sounds like you're facing trouble displaying homework reminders from your internal WordPress server on Xibo. Check if the internal server is accessible from the Xibo server, and ensure there are no restrictions. Confirm that the internal WordPress server's content type is compatible. Also, verify if any security settings on Xibo are blocking internal sources. I have resolved the same issue of my wordpress blog https://volleymentor.com/how-many-sets-are-in-a-volleyball-game/ by this process.

Can you help with this problem?
