Missing options in Windows client 1.7-beta

Asked by Speedy Gonzalez

Hi,

yesterday I installed the Windows client 1.7-beta (on Windows 7 x86). I noticed some missing options, that I need for my installation.

I would like to run PowerPoint presentations on my PC but the client 1.7-beta has no option for "Enable PowerPoint".

Also many other features from the 1.6.4 client are missing, suchs as collection interval.
The only two tabs available in the client are "Connnect" and "Advanced" (for proxy settings).

There is a file "XiboClient.config.xml" in my userprofile\AppDate\Roaming but when I restart the client, all changes to that file are set to default.

How can I enable the PowerPoint support and set a shorter interval (for testing).

Thanks.

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

You can configure your client in the cms. Look at "Display Settings" and add a Profile.

best regards,

Hubert

Hi Hubert,

thank you. Now I could configure my client.

But PowerPoint doen't work right with the client 1.7. It shows only a black screen.
On the same PC with 1.6.4 (same Windows configuration, ppt files are opened directly after the download. Internet Explorer 10) everything works great.

Any idea?

Thomas

In the display settings profile you configured, make sure you did not select the CEF web browser

I checked it. The CEF web browser is not active.

On my system is a IE 10 and Office 2007 installed. After downloading a PowerPoint presentation with the Internet Explorer, the presentation is shown direclty after the download has finished. I think this should be OK.
