"Browse Server"-Button is missing in CKEditor (for selecting images in library)

Asked by Holger Biber

Hi,

i've uploaded several images to the library which I want to include in a "text region".
Using the ckeditor there is a small icon "Insert image". But than I've to insert a full URL. The "Browse server"-button beside the URL-field is missing.
In the "xibo-library" directory all files are named just with numbers and their file extension, not with their "real" names. Why? How could I access the correct file?

Looking at the ckeditor-homepage I've found some documentation to modify the underlying filebrowser but not how to enable the button.

Where could I change my xibo-installation (1.6.3 on ubuntu) so I can use it?

Thanks and bye
Holger

You can't use it because the files you refer to won't necessarily be on the
client, and the server library shouldn't be in a location that can be
accessed via your webserver.

If you want to include images you need to upload them to another location
on your webserver and refer to them via full URL, but be aware that the
images won't be available to play offline if the connection to the CMS
fails.

Images uploaded to Xibo and played in an image region will be cached and
played if there is no connection
