Windows client machine's IP address changed

Asked by Jerry Volpe

The IP address on one of our client computers changed recently, and now the server and the client don't seem to be communicating anymore, and when I attempt to re-register the client, I just get a 'client can't connect to server' type of message. I'm using the windows client on Windows 7, Xibo version 1.4.2. Any guidance? Do I need to edit the IP address in the server interface? Or change the client's license number? Thank you very much!

Hi,

Neither of those two things should be necessary - the client IP is not used for any validation purposes. It actually sounds more like a network problem - can you connect to the CMS directly in IE?

Thanks,
Dan

You hit the nail on the head, Dan. It was entirely a networking problem - we had initially checked that, but it seemed fine, but when we went back, the network wasn't allowing that particular computer to talk to the server.

Thanks so much for the guidance!
