Layout Media default permissions for groups

Hello,

I was wondering if it's possible to set default permissions when certain users upload media in a layout?

Currently I have three users editing the same layout, and everytime one of them uploads media the permissions are set to the uploader only. The other ones which belong to the same group don't even see the media. The uploader then has to edit the permissions and give the appropriate group view edit and delete permissions.

It would be great if every upload would have default permissions set so the whole group can edit the media.

Is this possible? I tried googling it but couldn't find any answers.

We've implemented something like this in 1.7.0-alpha (currently in testing)
https://blueprints.launchpad.net/xibo/+spec/permissions-child-items

There is also the default permissions settings, but i'm not sure if these will do what you want (see MEDIA_DEFAULT in the global settings).
