Ticker doesn't scroll

Asked by rcadmin

This is working on another layout but not my current one. The following RSS feed (http://www.nzhistory.net.nz/timeline.xml) displays just fine if I leave it's directions as none. The moment I try and make it something like LEFT for UP it other shows nothing or sticks on the first entry.

I have tried deleting the region and recreating it.

The feed shows correctly on the preview display but not on the actual Monitor.

While writing this questions I noticed that the feed started to appear i.e. the first 4 characters. It is either running VERY slowly or has got stuck.

Tried a different Monitor and layout and that was even worse ie. in the first situation all the other regions displayed scrolling RSS feeds but now on the new Monitor and Layout non of the regions display RSS feeds when they scroll.

What client O/S and version are you using?

Do you have a lot of scrolling content on the screen at the same time?

Hi, we are using old machines with XP (updated as far as possible)

There are lots of feeds, one or two others scrolling.

We have now rolled back to the previous version of Xibo, using the latest client and it seems to be working.

The reason we upgraded is that we were having RSS issues but the client seems to have fixed that.

You really need to match Xibo versions - so if you are running CMS 1.4.2 then you need the 1.4.2 client. CMS 1.6.2 then you need the 1.6.2 client, etc.

If you are using old XP clients then you might be better sticking to 1.4.2 as there are some text rendering issues in XP at the moment. It should work, but their may be artefacts on screen.

Hi, yes I realised this but the funny thing is this configuration has worked the best for us.

Using the older version with the client we could not get all RSS feeds to work. Using the latest with its clients we had the RSS feeds sometimes working and sometimes not.

Now using the latest client with an older server and it seems to be working fine.. go figure.

Can you help with this problem?
