Ticker RSS format 1.6.1

Asked by Mike

OK so I upgraded to 1.6.1 from 1.4 and now my Joomla RSS feed will not display properly. The new ticker seemed to have remove all formatting of the [description] in my Joomla article.
I have Joomla article with a table and formatting but Xibo no longer sees the table formatting when brought into the feed it does display the content but without the table format.

Is there anyway I can fix?

Thanks!

The [Description] should be plain text. HTML formatting will be removed as
far as I'm aware.

If you want to show HTML you need to do that via the Embedded HTML module

You may want to try the content:encoded tag - assuming Joomla supplies
that.

Thanks for the replies!
@Alex has this been removed in the current 1.6 ver.? It didn't remove the html format in 1.4.

@Dan How do I add the content:encoded tag to my ticker?

Thanks again!

The way 1.6 handles RSS has changed significantly - we now use SimplePie to parse and render RSS in the CMS before sending it to the clients. Advantage being that each client gets the same results and doesn't need direct access to those feeds.

Content:encoded can be obtained by using [Content] instead of [Description]

is there a way to prevent simplepie from removing the HTML tags from the feed?

Thanks

It is my understanding that using the [Content] tag will achieve exactly that.

This may be a useful article to read (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7220670/difference-between-description-and-contentencoded-tags-in-rss2)
