FileInfo Requires PHP FileInfo support to function

I have a big problem.

My Provider don´t support fileinfo and I ask him why he told me that it is not installed on the server!
I have to pay 9,99 Euro per Month because I need a dedicated server for this.

Why does xibo need fileinfo??? Is there a way to solve my problem without to pay for a server I dont need with 3 - 4 clients? :-(

It needs it in 1.6 to identify the mime types of files in the library.

You can get managed hosting from the project sponsor for significantly less
than that, and you would be supporting the projects future development in
the process.

Otherwise you will need to switch to a server which supports fileinfo

File info is used to serve the correct mime types for preview and other
functions, Xibo needs it.

It is not a new module and has been as standard since 5.3.0. It seems
unreasonable for your host to have it disabled.

If you have 3 to 4 clients only you could consider hosting from the project
sponsors.

Problem is that I have all my Domains at this Provider and a 1 Year contract. :-(

In that case the last release you can use is 1.4.2

I talked with my provider and he told me that he will activate fileinfo for free! :-)
