Region is empty on Windows Client (1.6.1)

Asked by Daniel van der Geld

As a test I have installed Xibo 1.6.1 on my server and 2 windows clients.
In my layout I have defined 1 region. On both my clients, the region stays empty. In other words, I can only see my background, but no content. I have tried several different content types (RSS ticker, webpage, image), but no result.
When I look at the layout in preview (in the browser), everything seems fine. But on the client PC's it doesn't work.
The primary client PC is a Windows 7 ultimate PC with al the recent updates (IE11, .NET Framework 4.5 etc). The other PC is a Windows 8 machine with the latest updates.
I have cleared my client cache and tried several different layouts, but no result.

Any ideas? I also have a 1.4.2 install that works fine. I just want to upgrade.
Thanks

If needed, I can provide a logfile and some screenshots.

Hi Daniel,

That is rather odd - the background of the layout displays correctly, but the content doesn't?

It would be great if you could enable logging in the client options, recreate the issue and then press "i" to get the client information screen. Once there you can save the log and post it here, that would be great.

Thanks,
Dan

I have created a new design from scratch. As it seems, the problem is now resolved. I can see the content of the RSS feed.

The other problem (I can't change the font of the RSS [Description] field) is resolved by adding some additional CSS code. I still don't know what causes this, but both my issues sre now resolved.

I'm happy to say that I can use version 1.6.1 from now. Thanks for this great product!

Daniël

Ps. If You still want to find out wat caused this, I can send You a log file anyway. I made it back then, along with some screenshots. But I figure You have plenty of other priorities :-)
