Token does not match

Asked by David Hutchinson

Just installed xibo 1.6.1 onto a Windows 7 machine alongside running the linux server client on Ubuntu. When I go to schedule a powerpoint I get "Token does not match" error. However if I set the powerpoint to be the default layout for that client I get no such error but I do have to close the client down and open it again for it to become the default layout.

I did see another user with the same problem but the only solution was to clear browser cache which hasn't worked for me.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Basically what's happening is something is causing the token in the website
to be modified when it's then sent back to the server.

You probably need to run and collect a troubleshoot.txt file in the first
instance

Would that troubleshoot file need run and collected on the client machine or server? If server I'm very new to linux and wouldn't know how to.

Might go back to using Windows server as it's something I'm more familiar with.

You run it from the CMS web interface

Ok thanks. It's going to be Wednesday before I can look at this again as I'm out of office Monday and Tuesday. Hopefully this stays on the first page as I've noticed when you reply to existing tickets they don't move back to the top.

What page it's on has no bearing. We get email when you reply

Well had another look today but had to reinstall the client as I was getting an error about not having permissions to the default\backgrounds folder. Since reinstalling the client that error has gone along with the token error I was previously getting.

However I now have some other issues:

1) If I schedule a powerpoint the client stays on the fault layout
2) If I try and preview a layout I just get a blank screen

This is on both chrome and IE

Have you enabled PowerPoint in the client settings and done the appropriate
modifications to the registry to enable it?

I have the powerpoint tick box ticked in client options and have run a registry file called filename.reg (kb982995) as recommended in the documentation.

Is there some other registry settings I've missed?

I assume you have the full version of PowerPoint installed?

If so, check the client information screen for any messages

Yeah we have Office 2010 on our network.

Where is the client information screen?

At what point do I press it? I've tried it in the client options and client itself

With the client itself running

You'll get a popup window showing the status

Right managed to get a screenshot of the information screen. It only seems to appear when I have the default layout showing. It does look like it is trying to show the scheduled powerpoint but all I'm getting is a blank screen (and am unable to press the i key). Xibo then crashes with a Xibo has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.

There's no PowerPoint file shown in the RequiredFiles section so the CMS
isn't sending it down to the client to show.

Please check it's scheduled correctly, and that the time and date are
correct on the server and on the client

Took a screenshot of the layout with the powerpoint assigned to a region and also a screenshot of the schedule page.

The token error has returned but that's only if I click Save on the schedule screen, if I click next instead the powerpoint gets added to the schedule.

Time and date is correct on client & server

I'm afraid I'm out of ideas

These issues aren't indicative of the system. There has to be something
local to your environment causing a problem.

Feel free to sign up for a demo hosting account with us over at Spring
Signage and see if that resolves your issues.

Best wishes

No bother.

I am still trying to get this to work as it's the only digital signage software I can find that supports powerpoint plus being open source helps.

It does seem a bit temperamental and it does eventually schedule the powerpoint I want. I've set the client machine up so that it automatically logs in. However when xibo is run I get an error about access to default\backgrounds is denied. I assumed it was the backgrounds folder in the xibo library folder that you configure in the client options. Is that correct? I have given the user full permission to that folder but still get that error.

If I use our network administrator login I get no error.

Can you help with this problem?
