1.4.2 Client Crashing at 2 Week Intervals
Can't seem to get to the bottom of it. I have 5 identical client computers on a test bed and the problem is duplicating on all of them..same statistics described below are logged across all 5.
The computers slowly run out of memory (about 4% "Used Physical Memory" is eaten per day). On a fresh boot up, Resource Monitor reports that XiboClient.exe has about a 205KB Commit. Day 2 it will be 322KB, etc... My "Day 14" computer now has XiboClient at 1,034KB with 85% of memory in use. I am expecting it to crash in the next few days. And I'm hoping this memory problem is why my 3 already in the wild players have been failing every few weeks.
I have searched this forum extensively. And thank you so much for all that is documented. My problem seems most similar to this thread: https:/
I do not have Internet Explorer installed (in fact, there is no web browser installed on these computers). I am only looping a few short .mp4 videos from the Default Layout (not running tickers or any web content) and nothing is scheduled...just default layout. Computers are brand new Intel NUC running W7HP 64 Bit. Documentation indicates that Internet Explorer is required, but I'm assuming only for functionality of web content? Is there any chance not having a browser installed could cause this memory problem?
All of the computers have had the files in the \User\Appdata\Xibo folder removed. cachemanager, requiredfiles and schedule.xml all recreated at launch & look clean as a whistle.
"Log Level" is set to "error" in Client Options and "Auditing" is set to no on the server side.
I have about 2 months experience with Xibo....apologies for my newbness. Any ideas are much appreciated....I'm out of ideas.
