Xibo client in windows 2000 SP4

Asked by Guilherme Gaspar

Hello Everybody!

First Thanks for this great project.

My question is can we use old windows 2000 SP4 as clients? I read the manual and it says :

"Before attempting to install the Xibo Client please ensure the following prerequisites are met.
A network connection to the Xibo Server (possibly over the Internet)
Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7
.NET Framework v3.5 SP1
Internet Explorer 7 or 8
Flash Player Version 9 or later
Windows Media Player 11 or later
For Powerpoint support, Microsoft Powerpoint 2003 or later. Powerpoint viewer is not suitable."

But the instalation of versions 1.3, 1.4.1 and 1.4.2 always gives me error can´t install on windows 2000 XP SP2 etc

Thanks a lot!

If the appropriate dot net frameworks are available then it should run.

However, in the absence of security fixes for 2000, I would strongly advise
you not to use it. You should stick to something supported - for example
Windows 7 Starter Edition
