Is it possible to display auto-updated data on a display?

Asked by Jerry Volpe

We've recently gotten a request for adding some dynamic data/stats to one of our displays. We have some data that another system can spit out (either via email or drop someplace on the network via ftp in a CSV format) and we're trying to determine if there is a way to connect that data to Xibo and display it automatically on a screen. That data would be updated periodically - maybe every quarter hour and overwrite itself - and we'd like for Xibo to pick up the most recent version of it. Has anyone out there done anything like this?

just a couple ideas, use tweeter there a widget for that, you can ftp an image with the update information to a local file on the player call the file in a layout. Everything I have seen and tested with xibo has to be called from a layout.

As Mike H said, there are couple of possibilities.
I personally use Actionscript 3.0 nested in SWF animations.

Message me priv if You need any help with as3 code.

Basically, I use it for displaying Google Weather, Exchange course etc.
