Ability to program server-side actions in client planning

Asked by dbm

Hi,

I think that could be good to be able to program in the client schedule, actions to be taken by the server. With this we could, for example, to program the client start up ( wake on lan ) display by display ( imagine one installation where one display should start at 8:00 and another one at 11:00 ). When scheduling a client, we should be able to mark that the action is to be done in the server and not in the client, then the server programs the task itself and executes it at desired time and date.

Example of client's schedule:

8:00 startme (this tells to the server to execute a script launching a wakeonlan with the client MAC )
8:01 ....
Planification
20:00 sleepme (client script to suspend itself)

I searched if it's possible to do something like this just now but I am not able to find a solution directly with Xibo

What do you think?

You can schedule wake on lan for Xibo displays. You need the maintenance
script setup and the appropriate settings on each display record. You can
then use a layout with a shell command media type in it to shut the machine
down at an appropriate time.

Can you help with this problem?
