Asked by Kumar

Minimum Recommended Hardware Specifications are:

Processor: 1.5GHz

My Question is - If I use Core i3/i5/i7 can i use 1.07 GHz instead of 1.5 GHz?

Previously I was using Intel Atom D525 with 1.8 GHz processor and the windows client was playing fine. But In Atom series except D525 - other models like 2500,2550,2700 are not capable of playing windows client. Videos hang while playing.

It will be very useful if you guide on what basis we have to choose the hardware for windows xibo client. Bec for any digital signage compact hardware is must and in that case D525 has come to the end of life.

Going forward, core2duo boards are not available in mini-itx form factors, only corei3 is available. Obviously cost of the hardware increases.

Your advise and insight is much appreciated...

We can't possibly test every possible hardware setup and advise you.

The minimum spec is a guideline only.

"other models like 2500,2550,2700 are not capable of playing windows client. Videos hang while playing."

that is quite a mistake, I use more than 20 atom 2500,2700 and 2550 players, everything goes smooth. Check video drivers and codecs.

my experience:

- every processor dual core with min. 1.8 Ghz
- min 2 Gig RAM
- SSD min. 30 GB (really smooth work ), HDD as well

atom d2700 are really cool, play flash smooth (2.13 GHz)
add 4 gig RAM and SSD and it plays everything fast.

Cheers

Why should we check video drivers and codecs when the content is being played in Xibo client..

I am not very clear here since I also using same processor model..

Can you help with this problem?
