1.5.1 - Layout/region permissions for a non-admin

Asked by Shahid

Greetings Xibo team,

First off, the 1.5.1 interface is a phenomenal leap. Great work and thanks!

Playing with the new 1.5.1, I ran across an issue with layout and region permissions. I have created a user (User1) which is a member of the "Users" group. Under this user's account, I created a layout. Attempting to edit the default region in the layout, I get a "you don't have permission...blah blah" error message. As in previous versions, this user was created and added to the group "Users" to inherit page/menu permissions without directly editing the permissions under the user account. I don't know if the new version supports that method.

I have gone in with the xibo_admin super account (unmodified) and edited the permissions for the layout region in question to allow only "User1" and the "Admins" group view, edit, and delete permissions. User1 still cannot edit the region timeline. Any suggestions?

Also, maybe as a feature enhancement request, somewhere on the menu bar a label with currently logged-in user would be very useful.

Glad you like the improvements!

Unfortunately you are experiencing an unfortunate bug in the upgrade process that we need to address. We introduced a new sub page of layouts that manages all the region timeline information and the "security" link did not get put in properly.

To resolve just edit the page security on your Users group, unassign "Layouts" then reassign "Layouts" - the link will be put in correctly and it should come alive.
