I have a Saumsun Screen with Magic Net and none of its software or manuals. How do I get it running Xibo?

Asked by Daniel Buck

I have a Samsung Screen. It has Magic Net on it. However, we do not have any software to run the screen from a local computer (IE the Windows 7 desktop I am connecting it to has no software). I have no manuals for Magic Net.

After fruitless searching trying to get the software I learned that Magic Net sucks and that it is possible to get Xibo to run the screen instead.

I would like to do that. Assume I know nothing.

Hi Daniel,

Assuming that you want to connect a separate local desktop to your samsung screen, you can install xibo latest 1.5 series client on to the desktop for display.

You need to also install xibo server application either on the same or different which will help you to design and schedule your contents to the client pc. You can refer to the documentation and wiki pages for client and server install process.

It would be good if you can give a clear description of your digital signage client server layout so we can help you out with installation options.

As Prakash says, Xibo comes in two parts (server and client). Ideally you would run these on separate machines (and the old MagicNet would become the client).

Some resources to get you started:

 - Server install guide (http://wiki.xibo.org.uk/wiki/Install_Guide_Xibo_Server)
 - Windows client install guide (http://wiki.xibo.org.uk/wiki/Install_Guide_NET_Client)
 - Training Materials (http://wiki.xibo.org.uk/wiki/Training_Documentation)
 - The Manual (http://xibo.org.uk/manual/)

Can you help with this problem?
