auto launch Ubuntu

Asked by David Burgess

Ubuntu 10.04.4
Xibo client 1.4.1

Thanks to the super easy install.sh, I was able to install the Xibo client on a fresh Ubuntu 10.04 desktop. From here, if I launch xibo from a terminal as root (sudo ./run.sh), Xibo launches fine. Try without the sudo however, and it fails with an error that the version of Berkelium is not compatible with the version of Xibo. Is this expected? Should I have to run.sh as root always?

I searched the docs, FAQ, and launchpad but didn't find my answer. Sorry if this has been answered.

It doesn't need to be run as root

Make sure the whole /opt/xibo folder is recursively owned by whichever user you log in as
