A more detailed description on what I tried to do over the weekend:

I now also have the same problem, when I use a PowerPoint Slide. The client crashes when a layout contains a pptx file. But not when containing a pps file. And video; wmv = crash, but mpg = ok.
Client computers we have the problem n is:
Windows XP, Office 2003 32 bit
Windows 7, Office 2007 32 bit
Windows 7, Office 2012 64 bit

Tried to remove and make a new install, and what the installer don't do: removed the files in the \documents\Xibo Player\ directory, and removed the settings in regedit and started over again, but on all machines the Xibo client continues to crash.

Tried then to insert some other slides in the layout, but still got the problem.

Best Regards

I would upgrade to 1.4.0rc1 and see if that fixes it.

Unfortunally the problem is there again...

Therefore I tried to do:
Buyed a new server, installed Ubuntu Linux on it, everythin is ok and working. Xibo server: 140-rc1

Buyed a brand new PC with Windows 7 Home Premium.
Installed the client : 1.4.0-rc-1

Build a show in the admin part, and startet it. Startet with a image, followed by a video and after that a new image or text part. The client showed the first image, and the video, and after the video the screen went black, not showing the following things.

Tried also to show ONLY a video, and after the video the screen turns black and dont loop or continue the show. Other regions in the show also stops playing.

I only use images and video at this test and did not work around the Powerpoint problem.

The video will not automatically loop in a region. If the other regions on the layout are set to run longer than the duration of the video then once the video finishes running it will go to a black region until the entire layout expires.

if you want it to loop, put it in the region timeline twice - or make sure the other region timelines are shorter than the video timeline.

I have only one region now. In that region I put video A, wich has a duration of 18 sec. I type in 18 sec in the duration field in the timeline.
After that video I have another video, video B, wich has a duration of 21 sec. I therefore give the duration in timeline as 21 sec.
The problem is, that the client shows video A and stops, and do not go to video B. Tried to wait 1 hour constantly looking at the screen to see if something happens, but nothing happens.

So I tried to set the duration 1 sec lower as the videos are of originally duration and deleted the data in the xibo library on the client to force it to download the new layout.
Result: The same; the client stops and shows only black screen.

Triesd to set anothewr region up, showing text. I put in text A and text B (two texts in the timeline) and a duration of 5 sec of each. They are shifting between each other when the Video A in the other region are shown, but at the very same second the video A stops, the text also stops shifting, and stand still on the last text showing on screen, until I close the client.

So my problem is not the loop problem.

Have you tried putting 0 in the duration? It should auto expire at the end. You can also try to press 'i' and see if there are any errors listed.
