secuirty on layouts in 1.3.3

Asked by krishna kataria

I created 2 uesr's belonging to the same group. A layout created by user 1 cannot be seen by user 2. I have played around with a lot of settings but only super admin and user 1 is able to view the layout, not user 2.
Can you confirm if this is a known problem.
thanks

How have you set the permissions for the layout? This article may help you (http://xibo.org.uk/2012/05/06/introducing-an-improved-permissions-model/). We have yet to add these details to the manual, but should do before 1.4.

Dan, thank you for the quick reply. I did see this link and follow the advice on it but no luck. I ended up giving full access to all groups and all users including everyone on the layout. what ever I try, only the user which created the layout and the super admin user can view the layout. Is there anything else I can try?

Dan,
I did a clean install on ubuntu and repeated the above process. same problem, group admins in the same group can't see the layout. When layout was saved as a template and permissions were grated on the template, the other group admin was able to view the template.

Whenever you create a layout the logged in user is considered an owner, so they with automatically get all permissions, as will a super admin. Beyond that you can use the permissions button to adjust permissions for each individual user, or each group of users.

Group admins will get edit permissions for any layouts owned by users in their groups .

It is possible that this isn't working correctly, but I can't test at the moment as I am travelling, I will test and post back this weekend
