There is an article on datasets here: http://xibo.org.uk/2012/04/15/introducing-datasets/

We don't have an article on the counter functionality yet, but essentially it is an on screen counter controlled by a remote (such as a presentation pointer).

We would recommend that you upgrade your install to 1.3.2 as there are some other important bug fixes.

Its an on screen counter which increments when someone presses a button on a connected presentation style remote.

If you don't want it, don't use it.... I don't understand the big deal...

Hello!
Do i need to update the xibo server to 1.3.1 to be able to use the counter module or updating the client is enough?
Thanks!

Yes, you would.

In fact, updating to the latest version would be best!

Thanks Dan!
Actually I've upgraded the client but not the server so the client keeps stuck on splash screen.
Only tomorrow I can access the server to update it to 1.3.1.
By the way, do you know if it is possible to set a server through a computer with noip account?
Thanks again!

Yeah, they are linked on purpose - but only when there is a change in one that will break the other. Its best to check the release notes fir this information.

Not sure what you mean by a noip account.... you can run a client and a server on a stand alone pc, but it would be a bit challanging to update the content.

Hi Dan!
Thanks once more.
What I meant with the noip was that, once you need a fixed ip to set a xibo server so that the remote player can access it, is it possible, to set one computer as the server at home and instead of buying a fixed ip, setting it through a noip account on that computer/server.
Thanks!

Yes you can do that. You've never needed a fixed IP to run a Xibo server, but you do need a fixed DNS hostname for the clients to look at.

Alternatively you could purchase hosting for Xibo and do it "properly" through a company like Spring Signage http://www.springsignage.com

Not with just configuration changes. The company that sponsored that development wanted it to start at 1 so it's coded that way.

You'd need to change it here:

http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~xibo-maintainers/xibo/faye/view/head:/client/python/XiboClient.py#L2729

and here:

http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~xibo-maintainers/xibo/faye/view/head:/client/python/XiboClient.py#L2747

to 0 and -1 respectivly
